What is no longer in the syllabus.
In November 2023 NTA reduced the JEE Main syllabus for 2024 to match the rationalised school curricula. The 2025, 2026 and 2027 syllabi keep the same unit list. Older question papers still contain questions from these topics; skip them when you practise.

About the JEE Main 2027 syllabus.
Has the JEE Main 2027 syllabus been released?
Yes. NTA published the Syllabus for JEE (Main) 2027 with the information bulletin on 24 October 2026. Paper 1 has 14 units of Mathematics, 20 of Physics and 20 of Chemistry, the same unit list as since 2024.
Is the JEE Main 2027 syllabus reduced?
It keeps the reduced syllabus NTA brought in for 2024, when it removed topics to match the rationalised NCERT and board curricula: for example Mathematical Induction, Communication Systems, Surface Chemistry and s-Block Elements.
Is NCERT enough for the JEE Main syllabus?
The unit list follows the NCERT Class 11 and 12 books, and Physics and Chemistry each end with an experiments unit. NCERT covers what is asked; JEE Main asks it at a higher level of problem solving, so practice beyond the textbook exercises matters.
