Questions

About the NEET syllabus.

Has the NEET 2027 syllabus been released?

Not as of 26 October 2026. The syllabus in force is the NMC’s NEET (UG)-2026 notice of 22 December 2025, which kept the content set for NEET 2024. The NMC usually publishes the next one around December; this page is updated when it does.

Who sets the NEET syllabus?

The National Medical Commission (NMC), through its Undergraduate Medical Education Board. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam and links the syllabus on its website.

Is NCERT enough for the NEET syllabus?

The syllabus follows the NCERT Class 11 and 12 books closely, but not exactly: it keeps p-block general trends that NCERT dropped, and adds practical units and five plant families that are not in the theory books.

What was removed from NEET in 2024?

Several whole chapters (for example Transport in Plants, Digestion and Absorption, Solid State, Surface Chemistry) and topics inside chapters that remain (for example taxonomical aids, cockroach, radioactivity, transistors). The full list is on this page.
