NEET study plan 2027: pick the one that fits your time

How you plan for NEET depends on how long is left. A year allows every chapter twice and a month of full papers; six months, every chapter once and the heaviest again; three months, the chapters that carry most of the paper. Each plan below is set out week by week. Last checked 28 October 2026.

Six monthsSixteen weeks to learn every chapter once, six to revise the heaviest again, four of full papers: twenty-two mocks in all.Six months to NEET
Three monthsThirteen weeks on the chapters that carry about four-fifths of the paper, heaviest first, with the last five weeks on mocks. Not every chapter fits; the plan says which to leave. The three-month crash course

Whatever the time

Three rules every plan keeps.

  1. Count back from the exam. A plan that counts forward from today ends whenever it ends; one that counts back ends on the day that matters.
  2. Name the week. Not “Physics” but the chapters, a number of questions, and the tests. A plan that names its week survives a bad day.
  3. Let the papers set the order. Heavy chapters first, from how often NEET has asked each one.

Questions

About NEET study plans.

Which NEET study plan should I follow?

The one that fits the time you have left. A year allows every chapter twice and a month of papers; six months allows every chapter once plus revision of the heaviest; three months means choosing chapters by weight. Count back from the exam date, not forward from today.

How many hours a day should I study for NEET?

A range, not a number: what matters more is what the hours contain, whether the same chapters come round again, and how early you start answering questions. The full answer is in our article on study hours.

Which chapters should come first?

The ones NEET asks most, once the Class 11 foundations are in place. Our chapter-wise PYQ pages count every chapter in every paper since 2018, so the order can follow the papers rather than the book.

Is there a free NEET study plan I can follow day by day?

Yes. Nikaalle builds a 52-week plan counted back from your exam date, names each week’s chapters with today’s share every morning, and spreads what is left again in one tap when you fall behind. It is free and run by a non-profit trust.
