The file has one row per chapter per year: exam, subject, chapter, year, questions, and how many papers we hold for that year. JEE (Main) has many shift papers a year, so compare per paper, not per year. It holds counts only, no question text.

Method

How we counted.

Each question in the papers we hold is assigned to one chapter, and the file adds them up by year. Another count may place a question differently. NTA does not publish chapter weightage, so treat these as a guide to where the weight has been, not a forecast.

Questions

About this data.

Can I use this data in my notes, video or website?

Yes, including commercially, under CC BY 4.0. The only condition is a credit with a link: "Source: Nikaalle (nikaalle.com), Chiragh Educational and Welfare Trust".

Is this official NTA data?

No. NTA does not publish chapter weightage. We sorted the questions in the papers we hold by chapter ourselves, and another count may place a question differently.

Does it include the questions themselves?

No. The file holds only our counts of questions per chapter per year, not any question text.

Do the counts predict the next paper?

No. They show where the weight has been, which is a good guide to what to study first, not a forecast.
